Baccarat Procedures
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards than are of a value less than 10 are valued at their printed number while ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they strictly depict the 2 hands to be given out).
Two hands of 2 cards will now be given to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The total for every hand is the sum total of the two cards, but the 1st digit is dropped. For example, a hand of seven … five results in a score of two (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘one’).
A third card may be dealt depending on the foll. regulations:
- If the player or banker has a total score of eight or 9, both bettors stand.
- If the bettor has five or less, he/she hits. bettors stand otherwise.
- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or lesser. If the bettor hits, a chart is used in order to decide if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The higher of the 2 scores is the winner. Victorious stakes on the banker payout nineteen to twenty (even odds less a 5% commission. Commission is monitored and paid out when you leave the table so be sure to have dollars remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winner bets for tie typically pays 8 to 1 and on occasion 9 to 1. (This is a crazy bet as ties happen less than 1 every 10 hands. Avoid putting money on a tie. Nevertheless odds are generously better – 9 to one vs. eight to 1)
When played accurately, baccarat provides fairly decent odds, apart from the tie wager of course.
Baccarat Strategy
As with most games, Baccarat has some well-known myths. One of which is close to a roulette myth. The past is never actually a predictor of future events. Keeping track of prior conclusions on a chart is for sure a waste of paper as well as a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most popular and probably most successful method is the 1-three-2-6 method. This schema is used to maximize payouts and cutting back risk.
Begin by wagering one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, subtract 4 so you have 2 on the third wager. If you win the 3rd wager, add 2 to the four on the table for a total of 6 on the fourth gamble.
If you lose on the initial wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of 2. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Coming away with a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. This means that you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
