Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards valued less than ten are give a value of their printed number and on the other hand 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual contenders; they purely act as the two hands to be played).

Two hands of two cards will now be dealt to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The value for each hand shall be the sum total of the two cards, but the 1st digit is removed. For eg, a hand of seven as well as five produces a tally of two (sevenplusfive=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A third card can be played depending on the following practices:

- If the gambler or banker has a total score of 8 or nine, both gamblers stand.

- If the bettor has five or lower, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the gambler hits, a chart will be used in order to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the two scores wins. Victorious stakes on the banker pay at nineteen to 20 (even money less a 5% commission. Commission is followed closely and moved out when you leave the table so be sure to have funds left before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to one. Winning bets for tie typically pays 8 to one but sometimes nine to 1. (This is a crazy wager as ties will happen less than 1 every ten hands. Avoid putting money on a tie. Still, odds are exceedingly better – nine to 1 versus eight to one)

Played correctly, baccarat provides generally decent odds, away from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Tactics

As with all games, Baccarat has some established myths. 1 of which is quite similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way a predictor of future happenings. Tracking of historic results on a chart is simply a complete waste of paper as well as an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most established and possibly most successful tactic is the one-three-two-6 method. This schema is deployed to magnify payout and cutting back risk.

start by wagering one unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away four so you have two on the third wager. If you win the 3rd gamble, add two to the four on the table for a grand total of six on the 4th gamble.

If you don’t win on the initial bet, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed by loss on the second will create a loss of two. Wins on the first two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you break even. A win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. Thus you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
