Baccarat Standards

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards with less than a value of ten are of face value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they just represent the two hands to be played).

2 hands of 2 cards will then be given to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The score for any hand will be the total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is removed. For e.g., a hand of seven as well as 5 produces a value of two (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card may be given depending on the following rules:

- If the bettor or banker has a total of 8 or nine, the two bettors stand.

- If the bettor has 5 or lower, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the gambler hits, a chart shall be used to judge if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The bigger of the two scores will be the winner. Successful stakes on the banker pay out nineteen to 20 (even money less a 5 percent commission. Commission is kept track of and cleared out when you leave the table so ensure that you have $$$$$ still before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie typically pays out at eight to one and occasionally 9 to 1. (This is a bad bet as ties occur less than one every ten hands. Run away from laying money on a tie. Nevertheless odds are considerably better – nine to 1 versus eight to one)

When played correctly, baccarat presents relatively good odds, apart from the tie wager obviously.

Baccarat Tactics

As with just about every games, Baccarat has some established myths. One of which is quite similar to a roulette misconception. The past is never actually a predictor of future outcomes. Monitoring of last results on a chart is a waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most accepted and feasibly most successful method is the one-3-2-6 concept. This scheme is used to amplify winnings and reducing risk.

start by betting 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, subtract four so you have two on the 3rd bet. If you win the 3rd wager, add two to the four on the table for a sum total of 6 on the fourth bet.

If you lose on the first wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the second causes a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Coming away with a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. Therefore you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
