Baccarat Principles

Baccarat chemin de fer is gambled on with eight decks in a dealer’s shoe. Cards under ten are worth their printed number while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are zero, and Ace is 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these are not really people; they simply represent the two hands to be dealt).

Two cards are given to both the ‘house’ and ‘gambler’. The total for each hand is the sum total of the two cards, but the beginning number is dumped. e.g., a hand of 5 and six has a score of one (5 plus six equals 11; drop the initial ‘one’).

A 3rd card could be given out depending on the rules below:

- If the gambler or house achieves a score of eight or nine, the two players hold.

- If the gambler has less than 5, he takes a card. Players stays otherwise.

- If the player stands, the bank takes a card on a value lower than 5. If the player takes a card, a table is used to figure out if the house stays or hits.

Punto Banco Odds

The bigger of the 2 hands wins. Winning wagers on the banker payout 19 to 20 (even money minus a five percent commission. The Rake is tracked and cleared out once you leave the table so ensure you still have money remaining just before you quit). Winning wagers on the gambler pay 1:1. Winning bets for tie usually pay eight to one but sometimes 9 to 1. (This is a bad wager as a tie occurs lower than one in every 10 hands. Be wary of putting money on a tie. Although odds are substantially greater for 9 to 1 versus 8:1)

Bet on correctly baccarat gives pretty good odds, apart from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Chemin de Fer Scheme

As with all games punto banco has some general myths. One of which is the same as a false impression in roulette. The past is not a fore-teller of events about to happen. Keeping score of previous outcomes at a table is a bad use of paper and a snub to the tree that was cut down for our stationary needs.

The most common and possibly the most favorable strategy is the 1-3-2-6 technique. This tactic is used to pump up earnings and limit losses.

Start by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the game table for a sum of 3 dollars on the second bet. If you win you will hold 6 on the game table, take away 4 so you keep 2 on the third wager. Should you win the 3rd wager, add two on the four on the table for a sum total of six on the fourth bet.

Should you do not win on the first wager, you take a hit of 1. A win on the first round followed by a loss on the second brings about a hit of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a defeat on the third gives you with a gain of 2. And success on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth means you break even. Winning at all four bets gives you with 12, a profit of 10. This means you can not win on the 2nd bet five times for every successful streak of four bets and in the end, balance the books.
